Install an SSL Certificate

Use the following information on this page to install your SSL Certificate. Trustico® SSL Certificates work with any server, device, hosting account or application that supports the use of an SSL Certificate.

What You Need To Install Your SSL Certificate

A complete SSL Certificate installation requires three components to function correctly :

  • SSL Certificate
  • Intermediate Certificate(s)
  • Private Key

All three components must be present and correctly configured for your SSL Certificate to work properly.

Your SSL Certificate file is provided by Trustico® after your order has been validated and issued. This file contains your unique SSL Certificate and is typically delivered via e-mail or made available for download in the tracking system. Explore Trustico® Tracking System 🔗

The Intermediate Certificate(s) establish the chain of trust between your SSL Certificate and the trusted Root Certificate installed in web browsers and devices. Without the correct Intermediate Certificate(s), visitors may encounter security warnings or connection errors. Discover Intermediate Certificate Information 🔗

Your Private Key was generated at the time you created your Certificate Signing Request (CSR) and must be kept secure on your server. The Private Key must match the SSL Certificate exactly, as they form a cryptographic pair. Learn About Certificate Signing Request (CSR) Generation 🔗

Trustico® SSL Certificates work with any device that supports the use of an SSL Certificate. Older devices may not work with all Intermediate Certificates, so ensure you install the most relevant Intermediate Certificates for your environment. Discover Intermediate Certificate Information 🔗
